Legal Practice

Cestjon enjoys the strategic interplay among business, law and technology, and her practice correspondingly focuses on representing clients engaged in technology-based businesses and technology transactions.

She counsels clients with respect to intellectual property issues, and collaborates with clients to formulate, document and negotiate business strategies and related agreements involving the development, marketing, licensing, transfer and protection of technology, including technology-based services.

Her background as lead IP counsel in a variety of mergers and acquisitions, including the due diligence review of strategic agreements for a wide range of technology companies, aids her in counseling clients on sound business practices.

Law Firm Experience

Cestjon practiced law at Preston Gates & Ellis, LLP (now K&L Gates) starting in 1988 and for nearly the next 18 years.  She was a founding member of the firm's technology and intellectual property practice group and served as chair of the group from 1999 to 2001.  Cestjon left Preston Gates & Ellis in April, 2006 to become a sole practitioner.
